Toni Aquino is the 19-year-old daughter of the comedienne Ruby Rodriguez, one of the mainstays of Eat Bulaga.
Even before Toni Aquino entered the showbiz industry, she has always been the center of talks online because of her beauty. Due to her charm and talent, people can’t help but dub her as the Ariana Grande of the Philippines, also because of the way she fixes her hair.
Toni Aquino is currently a college student who takes up B.A Social Sciences at the University of Manila.
However, did you know that before she became a celebrity, she once felt bad after her mom declined an offer from one of the biggest networks in the industry?
In 2015, Ruby Rodriguez revealed that she once declined an offer from TV5 because she first wanted her daughter to finish her studies.
“Noong tinawagan nila [TV5] ako last year, I said no.
“It’s not because I don’t like, but because she’s a graduating student. I prioritize school very much.
“Kasi nga, kahit sabihin natin na cliché at lumang tugtugin na ang ‘Yan lang ang mapapamana namin sa inyo,’ totoo talaga ‘yon, e.
“I really want her to finish school.
“When I told her, sinabi ko na kinukuha siya pero ‘di ako pumayag, sumama ang loob niya.
“Then, I told her, I promised, ‘Anak, kung talagang para sa ‘yo, kukunin at kukunin ka. Kapag kinuha ka at naka-graduate ka ng high school, ibibigay kita, promise, sa unang humingi.’
However, when Toni Aquino finally finished high school, Ruby allowed her daughter to enter the industry.

Meanwhile, the newbie actress expressed how flattered she was when people started calling her as the Ariana Grande of the Philippines.
“I feel flattered, extremely flattered!
“Kasi I really like her po ‘tapos hindi naman sinasadya na ‘pag nag-ponytail po ako, ‘tapos nag-ayos ako, lahat sila, ‘You look like Ariana!’”
