Train Hits 16-Year-Old Teenager Who Was Busy Taking A Selfie With Her Friends

The selfie that almost cost a girl's life. Shocking moment a teenager's skull is smashed by a passing TRAIN is caught on camera when she poses with pals by a railway in Indonesia

In this modern period of time, selfies became a part of our daily routine; it became a part of our system – to update our social media accounts so that people, especially our relatives located far away, will always be updated with our lives.

However, despite the positive effects selfie has brought to our lives, there are still negative effects that might cause danger, and worse, may cost our lives.

A teenage girl miraculously survived being hit by a train as she posed for a selfie with her friends in Indonesia.

Ely Hayati, 16, had been walking by the railway tracks with her three friends when they decided to pose for a picture and one of them got their selfie stick out.

Recently, a 16-year-old Indonesian teen had serious head injuries when she and her friends went to take a selfie at a railway located in Purworejo, Indonesia on December 6. According to World of Buzz, the teenager was named Ely Hayati.

One photo shows the moment she is struck, and show her friends laughing during the split second before they realise she has been hit.

She and her friend stopped by the railway track, then one of her friends took a selfie stick to take a group photo. Without noticing, a train suddenly rushes by. Ely was hit by train’s force then she flies forward a few meters away from her friends; her head banged against the concrete and she suffered heavy bleeding on her head.

Luckily, the nearby residents and paramedics came to rescue her when her friends panicked and asked for help. She was rushed to the hospital and underwent emergency surgery to stop the bleeding. Fortunately, she survived and her condition was already stable although she is still in the ICU.

This is a lesson learned that we must not risk our lives just to take one quick photo. We do hope that Ely’s condition will progress and hopefully recover soon.
