The parents of a 16-year-old female were both arrested after they were caught in the act letting a Canadian-Mongolian national sleep at their house in Batangas City with their daughter.
Operatives of National Bureau of Invesetigation-Special Action Unit (NBI-SAU) also arrested and cuffed the foreigner identified as Kim Hyo Soon.
The operation was made after the NBI received a tip from a concerned citizen that the parents of the victim are the ones pimping her to the foreigner for P40,000.
Mr. Kim and the victim’s father reportedly knew each other from the latter’s work as a tour guide.
“This is very disheartening because the parents themselves, the biological parents, are the ones offering the minor child s*x services to a foreigner,” said NBI deputy chief Atty. Ferdinand Lavin.
The parents and the foreigner denied the accusations against them.
“I’m falsely accused, I deny all the charges. I’m tipping, not giving, tipping. Because it feels good,” said Mr. Kim when asked why he gives money to the family.
The parents are facing charges of qualified trafficking while the foreigner is facing a child abuse case.
The minor was then turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for custody.
“We will not tolerate this and we want this foreign national to answer to the fullest extent this outrageous act that he has committed,” said Atty. Joel Tovera, chief of NBI SAU.
