Police officers spark “kilig” among jury, audience on ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’

What seemed like a typical day for the “Pilipinas Got Talent” (PGT) jury to search for extraordinary talent became a heart-filled serenade after two police officers sang a duet and delighted everyone in the stadium. The moment when PO2 Robert Abella and PO2 Jackylou de Dios Palacio graced the stage in their Battle Dress Uniforms (BDU’s), the judges and the audience alike began welcoming them with applause.

When the two proceeded with their song number, they proved that there is more to them than the uniforms they wore. It turns out their talents were being hidden with their clever camouflage. The police officers sang the classic hit, “Forever,” by Martin Nieverra and Regine Velasquez, which instantly made the judges swoon. Angel Locsin, in fact, told them:

“Kung narinig lang siguro ng mga terorista kung gaano kaganda iyong boses ninyo ay baka walang gulo sa Pilipinas ngayon.”

One the other hand, Robin Padilla said:

“Gustong-gusto kong makita iyong pulis na ganyan, kaysa iyong nasa battle[field].”

Much to the jury’s surprise, the cops weren’t a couple nor do they have some mutual understanding. P02 Palacio is already married, and that was actually the first time that she and P02 Abella met in person. They first met online when the male cop invited her for a virtual duet, which made them agree to audition on PGT.

Vice Ganda, however, gave them thumbs down as their performance was “ordinary” and was only unique because they were wearing their complete uniforms. Nonetheless, the cops still received a “go” for the next round after Angel, Robin, and Freddie M. Garcia gave them a “Yes.”

Watch their complete performance below.
