PRE-DEBUT PHOTO SHOOT NG APO NI PRES. DUTERTE, INULAN NG BATIKOS

Yesterday, Isabelle Duterte, granddaughter of President Rodrigo Duterte, held her pre-debut photo shoot at Malacañang Palace.

She took to social media with some behind the scenes shots from the session, wherein top-notch celebrity stylists and makeup artists were seen on her glam team.

The soon-to-be debutante wore three fancy-schmancy ensembles: a red, ethereal gown resembling those of a Disney princess, a cream-colored gown with a leaf pattern, and an attractive, floral printed dress.

Well known for her stylish taste in fashion, the granddaughter made sure that she had only the best people to work on the photo shoot.

The team consisted of makeup artists Frankie Bacierto and Winn Ramos, celebrity stylist Jeff Galang, photographer Lito Sy, designer Rosenthal Tee and Garimon Roferos, and events planner Rita Neri.

While it was a successful shoot for Isabelle, news of her doing her doing the pre-debut photo shoot in the Palace didn’t sit well with many.

According to some netizens, opting for a photo shoot in Malacañang ran counter to the “simple life” that the President and his family have always stood by.

Social media users on Twitter were quick to call out the opulent display in what her grandfather once wanted to name the “People's Palace.”

Some drew parallels between the Duterte teenager and the Marcoses, who were known for ostentatious displays of wealth and grand parties in the Palace.

Others pointed out the color of the gown and the bloody extrajudicial killings plaguing her grandfather's administration.

Here's are some of the netizen thoughts:

Several others questioned the “tacky” display of privilege, and went sarcastic about making reservations for their own parties in the Palace:
